LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (WMC) - The Arkansas prisons will prohibit books from outside sources starting February 1. Starting February 1, the Arkansas Department of Corrections will prohibit all printed materials including books, magazines, and newspapers sent directly to inmates. In December 2025, the Arkansas Board of Corrections passed the ban, stating that it is an attempt to stem the flow of drugs into the state’s prison system.
